Jack Mallers is an American software engineer, entrepreneur, and the Founder & CEO of Strike. In 2017, he created Zap, a landmark open-source wallet that simplified user interactions with the Lightning Network and proved that Layer-2 Bitcoin payments could scale to non-technical users. He later leveraged Zap’s core architecture to launch Strike, transforming the Lightning Network into a global settlement engine for instant, low-cost fiat-to-Bitcoin remittances. - Strike App & Global Remittances Engineered the Strike application, which abstracts Lightning Network channels into a seamless, instant payment app. Introduced “Send Globally” to eliminate cross-border wire fees across 65+ countries.
- Zap Desktop & Mobile Wallet (2017) Created Zap, one of the earliest open-source Lightning Network wallet clients that allowed users to connect directly to their own LND nodes via a clean UI.
- Fiat-to-Lightning Rails Architecture Pioneered the usage of Bitcoin and Lightning as an invisible settlement transport layer, swapping fiat to BTC and back instantly to bypass legacy credit card and SWIFT rails.
