Obi Nwosu is a senior software architect and technology entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience. He is a pioneer in the European Bitcoin landscape, having co-founded and served as CEO of Coinfloor, the oldest secure Bitcoin exchange in the United Kingdom (acquired by CoinCorner in October 2021). His pedigree is defined by a commitment to scaling Bitcoin globally through human rights and financial inclusion. He co-founded Fedi to bring “second-party custody” to communities, allowing users in the Global South to benefit from Bitcoin’s sound money principles without the hardware friction or regulatory counterparty risks of traditional platforms.

The Collaborative Custody Stack
Fedi develops a decentralized community operating system built on the open-source Fedimint protocol. Its technical architecture combines **Chaumian Ecash** with **Lightning Network** routing. Instead of relying on a centralized company, users pool custody with community “Guardians” who run a threshold multisig. Senders and receivers trade blinded cryptographic tokens, keeping balances completely private from guardians and the network itself.
Vertical Assets
- Fedi App (Mobile OS Client)
- Fedi Mods (Admin Console)
- Chaumian Ecash Mint Core
- Blinded Token Exchange Protocol
Technical Integration
- Fedimint (Rust Core Engine)
- Lightning Network (L2 Swaps)
- Threshold Cryptography (Multisig)
- Community dApp Marketplace
Strategic Value
Fedi solves the “Usability vs. Custody” dilemma. While self-custody requires advanced knowledge, and centralized custody introduces counterparty risk, Fedi’s “second-party” model allows local communities to secure their own assets. In the event of hardware loss, guardians can restore accounts permissionlessly, scaling Bitcoin to billions of people without compromising basic decentralization principles.
